News: A Sad Story for Backbone 8.1, It’s short reign will be remembered

I’ve allowed Backbone 8.1 to have the floor because it would like to say something itself. So please give your complete attention to what it has to say. Thank you

Hey, my name is Backbone 8.1 and Adam created me. It’s with great pleasure to announce myself as the all-new Backbone and the new face of the growing BikeBackbone enterprise. I succeed the Original Backbone. I am the second consumer version and was developed from a long succession of Backbone ancestors. It all started with my great great great very great ancestor nambed Backbone 1. Although, nobody ever called it that then, it was just referred to as a “platform that supports a backpack”, or “bike pole” among other names. Nobody could ever agree on a name. Nonetheless, it was useful and it was from which I was created. So, I’m thankful for them but if I do say so myself, I am far superior to anyone who came before me because I am the lightest, strongest, and most user-friendly. Everybody loves me. I’m the first aluminum Backbone and the first Backbone that can be installed and adjusted within 3min. I’m just better than the rest. I would say I’m egotistical but you can’t fake being the best. Plus, my predecessors taught me something that it learned from its predecessors, and so, and it’s that I should be bold and know my worth. Since the dawn of Backbones we’ve told each other “Know your worth” and I’ll say it to my successor but there is no way it’ll be better than me. I’m Backbone 8.1.

…It may come as a disappointment to some but Backbone 8.1 will no longer be produced for the masses. Backbone 8.2 will take its place and have the same amazing features as Backbone 8.1 but, it will indeed be better. It will have more functionality and compatibility with our future product line. Sorry, Backbone 8.1. Your reign may have been short and you weren’t spread to the ends of the earth as you dreamed but, I, your creator and the whole Backbone line thank you for keeping the seat warm for Backbone 8.2.

Cheers (Kanpai, Salud, Skol),

Adam, the founder
