- Fit the clamp to your seatpost.
The Backbone mounts behind the saddle with a tool-free quick-release clamp. Start by checking your bike’s fit below.
- Bring the platform to your bag.
Adjust the support’s height and fore-aft position so the platform meets the bottom of your bag in your normal seated riding position.
- Dial in the feel.
Fine-tune the support and your backpack straps together. Follow the instructions for your model and check the setup before riding.

From a more upright commute to a forward-leaning ride, the support can be adjusted to meet your backpack where you carry it.
With a suitable bag and a properly adjusted setup, the Backbone can support up to 100% of your backpack’s weight. The fit depends on your bike, bag, and riding position.
Standard has a 15-hole adjustment range. Mini has a shorter, 10-hole range and more restrictive fit requirements.

Details with a purpose
Built for the everyday ride.
Aluminum. Welds. Real hardware.
6061-T6 aluminum, TIG-welded joints, and an anodized finish form the Backbone’s simple structure. The details are there to do a job.
Adapt the platform to your bag.
The Standard and Mini use a rectangular platform. Standard V adds a wider, padded V Platform; Pro includes the V Platform and Winch. The V top quick-releases from its shaft for easy stowing.
A little after-dark detail
Catches the light.
The Backbone lettering is reflective: subtle by day, bright when light hits it after dark.
Reflective, not self-illuminating. Keep using appropriate bicycle lights and reflectors.
