Room to adjust
The rectangular 15-hole platform gives you more adjustment than Mini. Set the height and fore–aft position to meet your bag in your normal seated posture.
Tool-free quick release
The clamp and adjustment hardware let you set up the support without tools. Follow the installation guide to secure the chosen position before riding.
Aluminum, built to travel
The support uses TIG-welded 6061-T6 aluminum with an anodized finish. Reflective lettering catches light after dark; it does not replace bicycle lights.

The Standard V package pairs the same Backbone support with a wider V Platform instead of the rectangular 15-hole platform. A useful step up for messenger bags and larger backpacks.

About the reflective decal
The reflective Backbone decal
Catches the light.
A subtle detail by day. A bright accent when light hits it after dark. The Backbone lettering is reflective.
Reflective, not self-illuminating. Keep using appropriate bicycle lights and reflectors.
Before you order
Fits most standard bikes.
Designed for a cylindrical seatpost, 22–32 mm in diameter, with 2 inches of exposed space between the saddle clamp and the frame’s seatpost collar. Check saddle clearance and backpack position as well as these two starting measurements. Get help with your setup.

Quick installation
Set up. Check. Ride.
- Choose the insert.Select the rubber insert that best fits your seatpost and press it into the clamp.
- Position the clamp.Place it around the seatpost with the Backbone tube angled upward.
- Close and secure.Close the clamp plate, tighten the quick-release handle, and lock it in place.
- Check for movement.Test the horizontal tube and adjust the clamp before loading your backpack.

Do I still wear my backpack?
Yes. Backbone supports the bottom of the backpack behind the saddle while you continue wearing it. The load stays centered behind you.
What kinds of backpacks can I use?
The Standard is designed for commuter, school, hiking, courier, and messenger backpacks. Fit depends on your backpack and riding position. Contact Support if you would like help checking your setup.
How much of the weight does it support?
When properly fitted for your backpack and riding position, Backbone can support up to 100% of the backpack’s weight. Correct setup matters; follow the installation guide and check the support before riding.
What warranty is included?
